Our faculty are clinically proficient and well prepared with a wide variety of work, academic, and personal experiences which they draw upon to enhance learning in the classroom and clinical areas. Many of our faculty are nationally certified in their areas of clinical expertise.
Glenn Grodrian, R.N., A.S.N., C.N.R.N.
Glenn is an adjunct (part-time) Instructor who also works as a Staff Nurse in Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital’s Neurological nursing unit. Glenn is a graduate of SRJC’s Associate Degree and is a Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (C.N.R.N.). He has extensive business management experience.
Laura Hanson, R.N., A.S.N., B.A., C.N.R.N.
Laura is an adjunct (part-time) Instructor who also works as a Staff Nurse in Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital’s Neurological nursing unit. Laura is a graduate of SRJC’s Associate Degree Nursing Program and has a BFA from University of Miami and is a Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (C.N.R.N.).
Liz Kiernan, R.N., A.S.N., C.N.R.N.
Liz is an adjunct (part-time) Instructor who also works as a Staff Nurse in Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital’s Neurological nursing unit. Liz is a graduate of Suffolk Community College's Associate Degree Nursing Program and is a Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (C.N.R.N.).
Kathy Lane, R.N., B.S.N., N.C.M.S.R.N.
Kathy is an adjunct instructor who has worked as a Staff Nurse III and charge nurse at Sutter Medical Center’s Cardiac Telemetry Unit in Santa Rosa for over 30 years. She is a graduate of the University of San Francisco, School of Nursing, is nationally certified in Medical-Surgical Nursing and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau.
Tracy McDowell R.N., A.S.N.
Tracy is an adjunct/part-time instructor in the Skills Laboratory. Tracy has also taught in the EMT program. She currently teaches CPR and ACLS courses. Tracy has years of clinical experience in Trauma and Emergency Room Nursing at Kaiser Hospital. Tracy is a graduate of SRJC’s Associate Degree Nursing Program.
Aimee McKenney, R.N., A.S.N.
Aimee is an adjunct (part-time) Instructor who also works as a Staff Nurse at Kaiser Permanente Hospital, Santa Rosa. Aimee is a graduate of SRJC’s Associate Degree Nursing Program. She is also a graphic artist.
Scott Meehl, D.N.P., R.N., C.N.L.
Scott is a full time nursing instructor and the Assistant Director of the SRJC Vocational Nursing program. He is a graduate of the SRJC RN program and received his Masters of Science in Nursing and Clinical Nurse Leader credentials from Dominican University. Last year, Scott completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice through the University of San Francisco. Scott also works part-time at on the Neuroscience unit at Santa Rosa Memorial hospital. Lillian Rankins, B.S.N.,
Lillian earned her LVN in 1979 and ADN in 1986. She decided to further her education and earned her BSN from UNCC in 1992. Lillian has over 30 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing. She is a temporary contract faculty member in the Vocational Nursing and Associate Degree in Nursing program. Lillian says, “I have a passion for nursing and it is truly a ministry to me. After over 30 years of medical surgical nursing I must say I am still learning.”
Jane Schlutius, R.N.
Jane is a proud graduate of the SRJC ADN program. She is completing an MSN in Nurse Education this summer. Jane began her nursing career over 12 years ago working on the Oncology Unit at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. It was during this time she developed a passion for Oncology, and has continued to work with oncology patients, adult and pediatric, in the outpatient setting. She has been an adjunct faculty member in the ADN program as a Clinical Instructor for the last two years and most recently a full-time nurse faculty member in the Vocational Nursing Program.
Anna Valdez, PhD, RN, CEN, CNE, CFRN, FAEN
Anna is the Associate Dean of Nursing and a proud graduate of the SRJC ADN program. She earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from University of Phoenix, with a focus on leadership and nursing education. Anna has a doctorate degree in specialty studies in education with a focus on nursing education. She has extensive experience in emergency and critical care nursing.
